Driving from Johannesburg to Cape Town one must pass through the vast exspance of the Karoo.
One can drive for 50 to 100 kilomeres in a sraight line…..without hitting a curve. Then once clear of the Karoo you drive into the picturesque Boland ….

And have a good laugh with humorous locals. And every year watch the Trans Agulhas Challenge boat race. Loads of fun things to do…. !!!!!
A working harbour being a favourite place for our Scottie, with plenty of action and things to do….. even chasing the Sting Rays to get to the fish Titbits thrown in the sea by the Fishermen.

Every morning we come out to feed our Birds…. then as if they are watching us from a distance… these beautiful majestic birds come in silently from nowhere …. showing us there flying skills.
Every afternoon the Elephants come down to have a drink at the Crocodile River. Only when they cross it, does become a bit dangerous for Baby Ellie. With the Crocodiles lying in waiting.
If you live in Cape Town or just visiting, you must take a drive out to Jonkershoek nature reserve.

Calitzdorp is situated inbetween the mountain ranges to the north the Swartberg mountain range…. The mountains of Huisriver pass to the West…..the landscape lends itsself to floods, droughts and extremes in weather, from very hot to snow clad mountaintops in the winter ❄☃️
